A tentative jury trial date for Billy Terrell Adams, charged with capital murder in the death of Charles “Chuckie” Cunningham, 31, has been set for Jan. 15, 2008. Adams appeared before White County Circuit Judge Robert Edwards Tuesday.

Cunningham was killed at 505 West Beebe Capps Expressway in Searcy on June 8 and then drove to Woodruff Street, where he wrecked his vehicle and was found dead. White County Prosecuting Attorney Chris Raff said he is not seeking the death penalty. Adams could receive from 10 to 40 years or life without parole if convicted.
